Say whats good to Skyzoo, Brooklyn's own lyrical monster. Ive been
rocking with Sky for 2 years now, from Corner Store Classic (his all
original mixtape) and countless mixtape features. Skyzoo is
absolutely what Hip Hop is supposed to be. If you don't know who he is,
you should be ashamed to call yourself a fan of Hip Hop. We caught up
with him for little Q & A. Heres what happened.

1. FOR THOSE THAT DONT KNOW WHAT LABEL OR GROUP ARE YOU SIGNED TO?
I'm not signed to any label, I have my own; AudioWorx Entertainment. I
started my own company with my team and built it up to what it is today.
I'm fully independent, and the other labels are currently reaching out
to get involved with what we're doing over here at AudioWorx.


2. WERE YOU HAPPY WITH THE RECEPTION,OF YOUR MIXTAPE, OR WERE YOU
EXPECTING MORE? (EDITORS NOTE: I STILL BUMP THAT)

I was very happy with it. The love in the magazines, websites, blogs,
etc, were all great. People really got what I was tryna get across on
the mixtape. I'm about the lyrics, and the response showed that people
understand it. The fans, most importantly, were really receptive to it.

3. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT TODAYS HIP HOP, AND WHEN I SAY THAT I MEAN IT
ALL THE HOT SHIT, THE WACK SHIT....HIP HOP AS A WHOLE ?
Hip hop in 2008 is growing. There was a stale moment a year or 2 ago,
but it's slowly coming back around. Artists like myself, Wale, The
Clipse, Lupe, Stimuli, Torae, Mickey Factz, Joell Ortiz, etc. There's a
good amount of acts really bringing it back to where it needs to be. The
bullshit is still out there, but the dope shit is getting more
recognition lately.

4. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT MIXTAPES ?
Mixtapes are great. They are one of the founding cornerstone's of our
culture as far as hip hop goes. Without the mixtapes I wouldn't exist.

5. DO YOU THINK, THE INTERNET IS DESTROYING HIP HOP, LIKE MANY PEOPLE
COMPLAIN ABOUT?
No, I think there's pros and cons with everything in life. The internet
has hurt music sales and the overall ideology of our culture, but at the
same time, the 'net has given us so much room to explore and reach other
people all over the world, no matter what your field is. The 'net is a
great thing. It's just the power that comes with the 'net that has
everyone scared. When power is misused chaos breaks out.

6. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT WHERE YOUR AT IN YOUR CAREER THUS FAR?
I love where I'm at in my career. I love my fans, my team, everyone who
has helped the Skyzoo machine to become what it is. I work with some of
the greatest producers and artists in the game on a regular basis. My
respect in rap circles is through the roof, and I live off of rap with
no real job. I can't really ask for more.

7. FAV. BIGGIE JOINT AND WHY?
"Everyday Struggle". That record is a detailed description of exactly
how it happens where we live. From beginning to ending. I grew up one
block away from Biggie, so everything he painted on that record is what
we saw in my hood.

8. FAV. TUPAC JOINT AND WHY?
"Ambitionz Az A Ridah". The energy and deliver he put forth on that song
is nuts. He has a laundry list of great records, but to me, he nailed it
on that one. That's my personal favorite.

9. SANNI LATHAN OR NIA LONG
Nia Long! Sanaa Lathan is incredible, but Nia Long is the ultimate. I
don't think there's a woman alive flyer than Nia.

10 .BALD , BUSH ,OR NEATLY TRIMMED
Hahaha, neatly trimmed is perfect.

11 .LASTLY DO YOU THINK A PROMOTION SITE LIKE THIS WILL BE HELPFUL FOR
ARTISTS AND DJ'S AND FANS WHO WANT TO ESCAPE FROM THE SO CALLED HIP HOP,
THAT THEY PLAY ALL DAY ON T.V?
Definitly. There has to be another outlet. Something else besides the TV
and the radio, and that's where sites like yours come into play. We
exist because of sites like yours.
